Legends of Learning


Legends of Learning is a platform, where you can find a lot of curriculum-aligned math and science games for elementary and middle school students. It’s free for teachers and students to use in school. The main goal is to teach through fun. This is a modern and engaging method of teaching, which can help teachers make classrooms more fun and productive learning environments through research-driven, curriculum-based games.

The Knights had an opportunity to create games for Legends of Learning: Fossil Hunt, Dnation (leader in rankings), Dnation 2, Squarechitect: Area, Squarechitect: Field, Squarechitect: Symmetry, Newton Pool, and Circle of life. These titles were fully made by our developers. We were in charge of the whole development, started from code, creating the design and creating art as well. In these projects it was important to keep all technical requirements of their platform and create a high-performance WebGL game.

Squarechitect Area

It’s a game about building a given number of figures with a given area on the board, and in other levels - to write area values for the figures visible on the board. There are 20 levels to complete and 100 stars to receive. If you do the quest with the minimal number of moves, you gain 5 stars. The difficulty of the level is increasing as the game progressed. Squarechitect Area is based on the basic principles of mathematics and teaches logical thinking.

Newton Pool

This is a game based on mixed rules of pool, golf, and pinball. There is a limited number of moves per level and a given number of points to collect.  Hitting the white ball into the hole, by using as little number of moves as possible is the main goal. You can also push yellow balls into a bumper to receive additional points. The correct answer to the question is also an additional move for you. Newton Pool uses basic laws of physics to create interesting gameplay and its a chance to learn something more about physics.


“When it comes to the game design (Newton Pool), we wanted to make something special that would interest our target audience - school students - enough to be willing to break through the questions to continue the gameplay. The first inspiration was the idea of ​​combining the moment of breaking balls in a pool game with a pinball - we created an environment in which we reward the players for making total chaos with points and visually attractive effects. The main goal of the game was the last component - here we took example from golf by giving players a limited number of moves to bring the ball to the end of the level represented by the hole. We hope that we have created a game to which players will come back looking for alternative methods of passing levels and improving their (and colleagues from the class) high scores.”
